EXCELSIOR PARK ‘COMMANDER’ EARLY 1940’S

This rare timepiece is an example of the only oval shaped chronograph movement used in a wristwatch.

The Excelsior EP42 was designed to take up minimal space on the wrist, while still having all of the features of a normal sized chronograph.

Very popular with airmen of the period ,many of these were used by military pilots during world war two.

This example is all original and none the worse for it.

Very simple un-signed military silvered dial with separate outer telemeter ring and blued steel ‘sword’ hands.

The tonneau shaped stainless-steel case is in fine condition, just a little scratched from gentle use over the years.

Movement in good condition and running very well, all functions working perfectly.

We are including a wonderfull original ‘new-old stock’ three colour dial with the watch, should the new owner wish to change it.

I would be inclined to keep the watch 100% original ,though the included dial is correct for the watch and will look absolutly stunning if fitted to this one.

We have also fitted an original period ‘new-old stock’ strap to the watch.

Rare ,historically important and in super original condition.
